Skin aging is the sum of at least two components, Chronoaging and Photoaging. Chronoaging is the set of skin changes caused by the passage of time, mainly dependent on genetic and hormonal factors. The solution? We call it Thread Lift.

Chrono-aging occurs visually with the appearance of fine wrinkles and sagging skin, the skin appears thinner, less toned and dehydrated.

One of the main requests by those who undergo aesthetic practices is certainly to take advantage of non-invasive, painless and immediately effective interventions. Among the most recent and innovative clinical findings, a treatment called “thread lift” stands out, which involves the use of absorbable threads.

The term “Thread Lift” indicates a face and body treatment that involves the insertion, without the need for incisions and in the outpatient setting, of absorbable and biostimulating threads which on the one hand guarantee the lifting and support of the relaxed tissues, and on the other hand stimulate the rejuvenation and firming of the skin through the proliferation of new collagen.

The completely absorbable suspension threads have long been used extensively in the field of general and cardiovascular surgery. Their fundamental task in aesthetic medicine is to counteract skin sagging and reposition the soft tissues upward in a non-traumatic and natural way, remodeling and restoring tone even to areas considered difficult to treat, such as the neck, arms and interior thighs. Thanks to this procedure it is possible to avoid or at least postpone surgery or facelift.

The particular composition of the absorbable threads favors the stimulation of the skin tissue, which causes the proliferation of new collagen, with a rejuvenating effect that results in firming, renewed elasticity and greater brightness of the treated skin area. The positioning of the threads generates an inflammatory reaction that stimulates the formation of new collagen and elastin and promotes stability and longlasting of the results.

The advantages of this innovative technique are clear: it obtains optimal results without being traumatic or painful, in a short time and at sustainable costs.

Utilizzo

The patient undergoes a preliminary visit, during which the areas to be treated are identified and their characteristics analyzed. The threads are inserted thanks to the use of very thin hypodermic needles that deposit the threads themselves inside the fabric, creating a network in the area to be treated. The threads we are talking about are made of Polydioxanone (PDO), a hypoallergenic and biocompatible material that promotes cell cohesion and is completely absorbable. For facial treatments, 2 to 3 strands per side are generally used. They remain temporarily in the subcutaneous tissue, producing an instant lifting effect and, over time, stimulating the spontaneous production of new collagen, which, as is well known, is the main protein produced by our body responsible for the health of the connective tissue.

After the session, bruises and slight swelling may appear on the treated areas, which disappear within a few days.

Durata

The treatment takes from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the number of threads to be inserted. It takes place in an outpatient setting and a mild local anesthesia is used. After having completely removed the make-up residue from your face, the doctor draws some guidelines on the face for the correct positioning of the wires, i.e. the entry and exit points. At this point we proceed with a mild local anesthesia. The operation does not require incisions and is practically painless.

Risultati

This technique raises the skin of the eyebrows, cheekbones, cheeks, neck, almost completely avoiding swelling and bruising and allowing in most cases the immediate resumption of normal social life. As mentioned, the effectiveness of the treatment is immediately noticeable, but it reaches maximum visibility 2-3 weeks after implantation.

The soft lifting offers very satisfying results, thanks to the absorbable threads that create an immediate lifting effect on the treated area.

The results may have a different duration depending on the type of thread used. The absorbable threads have a duration that can extend for years, depending on the type.

Permanent threads, whose duration is unlimited, however, undergo progressive weakening of the support, because, over the years, the skin of the treated areas begins to give way.

In any case, it is necessary to wait at least 6 months before evaluating the possibility of inserting more threads, in case the result obtained is not optimal.

It is a very safe procedure, complications are very rare, apart from small side effects such as small, well-controllable hematomas. What is the difference between soft-lifting and surgical lifting?

Surgical lifting, on the other hand, provides an immediate effect thanks to the removal of excess ptotic skin, and finally the biostimulation threads have no anchoring power as they are not equipped with barbettes or cones.
