Eleana Ferrari: the holistic method between science and beauty

On the island of Venus, Cyprus — where myth and beauty intertwine, and from which, according to legend, the goddess of love was born — lie the roots of Eleana Ferrari, medical doctor, biochemist, and nutritionist. Heir to a long family tradition devoted to medicine and wellness, she is known for her holistic approach, which blends science with sensitivity, combining the pursuit of aesthetic improvement with the deep well-being of the individual. Indeed, it is precisely in this balance between body, mind, and beauty that Dr. Ferrari grounds her philosophy, which she shares with us in this interview.

Can you briefly tell us about your educational and professional background, and how you came to combine aesthetic medicine, biochemistry, and nutrition?

My journey began with a broad scientific education. First, I earned a degree in Medical Biochemistry in London; then, I completed a Master’s in Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Public Health at the University of Bristol. Finally, I obtained a degree in Medicine and Surgery at St George’s University of London, specializing in Aesthetic Medicine. This solid foundation allowed me to integrate molecular science, health, and clinical medicine, thus creating a holistic approach to beauty that sees the body as a complex system, where nutrition, metabolism, and medical-aesthetic treatments work together to improve the health of both the skin and the body as a whole.

How has your international experience (Italy, the UK, and Cyprus) influenced your professional approach and your vision of aesthetic medicine?

Experiencing life and work in three different countries has given me a broad and dynamic perspective on aesthetic medicine and the doctor–patient relationship. In England, I learned clinical rigor and the importance of scientific evidence. Meanwhile, in Italy, I rediscovered artistic sensitivity and attention to aesthetic detail. Finally, in Cyprus, I developed a more human and relational approach, where the concept of well-being is deeply rooted in culture. Altogether, these experiences taught me that beauty is not universal — it depends on context, culture, and individual harmony. Therefore, I now apply this vision to offer personalized treatments that respect each patient’s identity and characteristics.

What difficulties or turning points, personal or professional, have marked your journey and contributed to your growth as a doctor and as a person?

One of the most important moments was the transition from traditional clinical medicine to regenerative aesthetic medicine. At first, leaving the hospital environment to found my own clinic and fully dedicate myself to exploring the balance between science and beauty was not easy. Nevertheless, it was a decisive step in defining my professional identity.
Over time, the initial challenges — managing international teams and assuming responsibility toward patients — taught me resilience, attentive listening, and the ability to innovate. Today, I see aesthetic medicine not merely as a technical act, but rather as a form of holistic care.

Eleana’s magazine talks about your “holistic” approach to beauty, which takes into account psychological and physical well-being. How is this vision concretely applied in your treatments?

My holistic approach is based on the principle that the skin reflects what’s happening inside us. Therefore, every treatment begins with an integrated assessment that includes the patient’s hormonal, nutritional, and psychological-physical state. In practice, I combine skin biostimulation, personalized nutrition, and non-invasive technologies (laser, radiofrequency, ultrasound, plasma, fractional radiofrequency) to achieve natural and progressive results. As a result, the goal is to harmonize body and mind, improving not only outward appearance but also energy and self-confidence. Ultimately, aesthetic medicine becomes true medicine for overall well-being.
